  • Gergely’s practice focuses on banking and finance matters.
  • His clients are companies, financial or credit institutions, enterprises dealing with complex national or cross-border financings. Other clients include renewable energy, automotive, agriculture, real estate, life sciences, construction and service, and retail sector companies.
  • Gergely also specialises in the following sectors:
    • financial regulatory and banking law matters, including possible issues related to new financial products;
    • acquisition finance, syndicated loans, structured finance, project and asset finance;
    • implementation and financing of renewable energy projects and their acquisitions;
    • commercial and trade law related transactions;
    • legal due diligence related to above-mentioned matters.

  • Advised a client based in Hungary on a new, innovative payment solutions and represented the client before the National Bank of Hungary.
  • Acted for and coordinated legal representatives involved in various legal systems in a management buyout carried out in connection to a multinational group involving several European subsidiaries and in the complex financing of the related transaction.
  • Represented various companies and Hungary-based credit institutions in the financing of complex renewable energy related projects.
  • Assisted clients from various sectors and industries, such as automotive, energy, construction, agriculture, real estate development, retail, as well as Hungarian and foreign credit institutions in financing, refinancing and other related transactions.

Professional Background

  • Graduated summa cum laude at the Faculty of Law at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest in 2019.
  • Studied at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven) in 2017/2018.
  • During his university studies, he was a member of ELTE Bibó István College for Advanced Studies, where he is currently a mentor at the Civil Law Department.
  • Gained professional experience at the Financial Arbitration Board at the National Bank of Hungary.
  • Joined Oppenheim as an intern from 2018.
