Second edition of comprehensive commentary on CDR is out – author of Hungarian part: Áron László
2018-12-03

Unlike EU trademark law, in the field of EU design law there have been no recent major reforms: it was nevertheless high time for a comprehensive update of the first edition of the commentary due to recent decisions of the EUIPO, the GC and JC, and the community design courts.

In addition, the ’Legal review on industrial design protection in Europe’ tasked by the EU Commission was published in 2016, which recommends various amendments to the design regime. Furthermore, the EUIPO Guidelines have been significantly revised as well.

The updated second edition deals with all of these aspects and gives a detailed article-by-article analysis of the Regulation and their enforcement in each Member State of the European Union.

The editor of the book is Prof. Dr. Gordian N. Hasselblatt, adjunct professor for both the McGeorge School of Law (Sacramento) and the Chicago-Kent College of Law for International Design Law.

We are proud that Áron László, the head of Oppenheim’s Trademarks and Designs Practice was the author of the Hungarian part of the commentary.
