Important deadlines / chages coming by 24 September

If the trademark holder

- filed its EUTM application or IR designating European Union before 22 June 2012 and

- the trademark contains class headings

the holder may file a declaration with the EUIPO pursuant to Article 28(8) of EUTMR in order to declare that their intention on the date of filing had been to seek protection in respect of goods and services beyond those covered by the literal meaning of that heading. Without filing this declaration, the trademarks containing class headings will be interpreted according to their literal meaning.

The deadline for filing this declaration lapses on 24 September 2016.
